Outreach for kids

The magazine that you often catch juniors reading during the sermon will soon have an influence on kids who have never seen the inside of an Adventist church. Guide magazine is developing a special monthly issue that can be shared with friends and neighborhood kids. The $350,000 development project is the boldest move in child evangelism since Guide was originally introduced 55 years ago.

Introducing Real magazine
Real magazine has the same Christ-centered stories that have made Guide magazine such a hit with juniors and earliteens. Only this magazine will be for those outside our fellowship.

Sharing the Adventist Advantage
The children in Seventh-day Adventist churches have a great advantage over children in other congregations. No other group has produced a whole magazine for their young people and gone so far as to provide it every week. Providing nurture through Guide magazine is critical. To quote the Christian researcher George Barna,  “The primary window of opportunity for effectively reaching people with the good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection is during the preteen years. It is during those years that people develop their frames of reference for the remainder of their life.”

A Mission Beyond Church Walls
The new monthly magazine that will let us take the blessing of Guide to children who are not in our churches. Juniors and earliteens nominate their non-Adventist friends to receive a gift subscription to the new magazine and enjoy a whole year of faith-building, true stories.

Church members help sponsor these subscriptions. The project may start small, but we can see it spreading to touch the lives of kids all over this continent.

How to Reach More Kids
Developing Real isn’t cheap. And getting it into the hands of thousands of kids is going to cost thousands of dollars. Many thousands. But the good news is that every single dollar helps carry the story of God’s love to one more child. Consider what you would like to give to help influence a child to choose a better life.
